Wake Up and Glow

My morning begins with good intentions. I vow to rise early, bounce out of bed with bright eyes, and have a measured, relaxed start to the day.  All too often though, I wake up late, race through my morning routine, and leave my home driving my daughter to school with dry skin, dark circles and damp hair, clutching that morning cup of coffee to jolt my energy!

To reassess my routine, I have found some quick fixes.

Soon after waking, fill a mug with hot water and add a slice of lemon or lime.  The citrus juice gets your blood flowing and your digestive system working, clearing congestion from your skin.  For alternative caffeine free morning stimulant, drink a cup of peppermint tea.

If you have bags under your eyes, so some stretches and jog in place for five minutes upon waking. Or run up and down a flight of stairs--this helps drain fluid from under your eyes. If time doesn't allow this do some stretches or lunges while brushing your teeth.  Or try the old stand by and stick two spoons in your freezer at night and hold them and lightly roll them across the eye area to decrease puffiness.

Try these quick tips out and feel free to send us some of your quick tips for your morning routine.

The Great Brush Off

Dry-brushing is a kind of detox for the skin, improving circulation and invigorating the body.  If you don't have sensitive or broken skin, try it once a day before showering.  Start at your feet and brush in small, circular motions moving toward the heart.
